ASENA TOKUR

Born in Istanbul in 1992, Asena Tokur decided to become a fashion designer at the age of 10. She began her fashion design education at a vocational high school, where she completed both voluntary and compulsory internships. She also received basic art training for a period of time. After high school, she enrolled in the Fashion Design program at Istanbul Technical University – Fashion Institute of Technology SUNY, but later left the program. Following her passion for fashion, she moved to Italy and studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni Firenze. After graduating, she returned to her hometown, Istanbul. She first wrote style recommendations for Uniq Magazine, and later worked in the design department at Roman. Asena went on to establish her own brand, EŞA. Eşa products are handcrafted using 100% pure wool and cotton yarns, and the fabrics are woven by women artisans. The brand brings together traditional motifs with minimalist lines.
